Social History: Mailed on March 11, 1961 Agnes writing from Fair Oaks, tells her friend Mildred in La Crescenta about her time in Sacramento, California. She specifically mentions attending the Camellia Show—a legendary Sacramento tradition since 1924—and going to a "Volks dance" (Folk dance), reflecting the vibrant community social life of the early 1960s.

Postal History: Features the famous Cold War-era "PRAY FOR PEACE" machine cancel. This slogan was introduced in the 1950s as a patriotic and spiritual response to the tensions of the nuclear age.

Scene: The front features a beautiful "Plastichrome" view of the El Dorado County Public Beach. The description on the back captures the 1960s marketing of the area as the "Mile-High" beaches of the South Shore. The vibrant blue water and the tiny figures of sunbathers scattered on the sand are hallmarks of the high-quality photography by Mac Miller.
