Social History: This 1951 linen postcard contains a remarkable eyewitness account of natural history. Sent on July 24, 1951, the sender describes a forest fire on top of The Great White Throne caused by a lightning strike the previous day. They write: "This afternoon a falling tree started the trees shown in this picture halfway down and we watched them flame up like a torch." This provides a rare, real-time look at the park's environmental history and the dramatic experience of early 1950s tourism.

Scene: The printing beautifully captures the stark contrast between the white crown of the Great White Throne, the most iconic monolith in Zion National Park, Utah, and the deep red Navajo sandstone of the surrounding canyon walls.

Era: Early 1900s (Divided Back)
Size: Standard 3.5 x 5.5"
