Vintage Postcard 1940s RPPC Grasshopper Fountain Mexico City Chapultepec Castle

The handwritten note serves as a time capsule of a mid-century tourist soaking in sweeping panoramic views of the Mexican capital:

"One of those simple but effective works of art, this fountain is small but charming and highly appropriate to the stone-paved courtyard in front of the Castle of Chapultepec, (where I now sit writing and looking out over the great city of México,) for "Chapultepec" in the Aztec language means "Hill of Grasshoppers". Surely this view is one of the finest views of a city that I know."
