Vintage Banknote Lot of 3 Zambia Zimbabwe Giraffe Elephant African UV Watermark
This lot features three historic African banknotes representing Zambia and Zimbabwe. It includes a standard Zambian issue alongside two fascinating relics from Zimbabwe’s legendary hyperinflation crises of the 2000s, including a rare temporary emergency currency piece.
Zambia 500 Kwacha (2005): Features the African Fish Eagle and a baobab tree, and cotton picker harvesting crops. Approximately 140 mm × 70 mm. Serial number DE 03262004.
Zimbabwe 5 Billion Dollars Special Agro-Cheque (2008): Issued as a temporary emergency token during the peak of hyperinflation to allow farmers to purchase agricultural equipment. Approximately 148 mm × 74 mm. Serial number AB 2891202.
Zimbabwe 1,000 Dollars (2003): Features the world-famous Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth and three magnificent African elephants walking in unison. Approximately 147 mm × 74 mm. Serial number WU 2448384.
Security: UV light shows multi-colored fluorescent security fibers woven directly into the paper substrate. The backlit photos confirm a highly detailed African Fish Eagle watermark on the Zambian note and a classic Zimbabwe Bird watermark inside the window panels of the Zimbabwean notes.
Condition: Heavily to Lightly circulated with paper softening, folds, fading, and edge wear.
