This 250 Dinars banknote issued by the Central Bank of Iraq, is a notable historical relic, printed just before the 2003 coalition invasion and subsequent currency overhaul. Features an ancient Arab Astrolabe, a highly complex historical astronomical instrument used by classical navigators and astronomers to calculate the positions of celestial bodies. The back depicts the Malwiya Tower (Spiral Minaret) of the Great Mosque of Samarra, an iconic 9th-century architectural masterpiece and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
