This authentic 1926 National Bank of Greece 1,000 Drachmai note features a prominent red provisional state overprint. Following the founding of the brand-new central bank, the Bank of Greece (ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ), these massive notes received a sweeping red text overprint across the center face to authorize them under the new central regime.
