Antique Postcard 1907 Family Invitation McNally Mansion California
Social History: Includes a handwritten note by family relative, Kate, on the front from the McNally family’s city residence at 1254 S. Flower St., Los Angeles. The postcard is dated 1907, which places it right in the middle of the transition between the city house and the full-time use of the Altadena mansion by the next generation of McNallys!
Historical Significance: This original postcard features the Andrew McNally House in Altadena, California. It shows the Queen Anne Victorian estate of the Rand McNally co-founder in beautiful early 20th-century detail, destroyed by the Eaton Fire in January 2025. This postcard is a vital record of a National Register of Historic Places site that no longer exists.
