Vintage Postcard Lot Washington Nature Nisqually River La Grande Moclips Ocean
This set of Washington State postcards covers both the rugged river canyons of the Cascade region and the expansive, rocky coastline of the Pacific Ocean:
Nisqually River & La Grande: This card captures the pristine river canyon near La Grande just around the time the city of Tacoma was establishing its historic Nisqually Power Plant project (one of the earliest major municipal hydroelectric developments in the Pacific Northwest).
Moclips Coastline: Moclips was a booming, fashionable early-1900s coastal resort community made highly accessible by the Northern Pacific Railway. This card shows the iconic, desolate sea stacks and rock formations that drew early city dwellers out to the wild Pacific shorelines for seaside bathing and relaxation.
