Vintage Postcard Lot Bridges Niagara Falls Peace Steel Arch Whirlpool Rapids NY
These postcards show the historic bridges and waterways of the Niagara Frontier in New York. The collection features two distinct perspectives of the Peace Bridge spanning the Niagara River, a general view of the American Falls framed beneath the Steel Arch Bridge, and a dramatic close-up of the churning Whirlpool Rapids.
The Steel Arch Bridge view features a vintage sightseeing boat navigating the base of the falls. The reverse of the Whirlpool Rapids card vividly pitches the landscape to out-of-state tourists, describing the river as it is "suddenly changed from a broad placid pool to a roaring avalanche which heaves the water into a white foam."
