Antique Postcard 1920 Denmark WI Masquerade Dance A Bend In The Road Blue Sky

Social History: Sent by Ellen in Denmark, Wisconsin, to Mr. Stephen Rosik in Mishicot, Wisconsin:

"Denmark, Wis. Feb 19, 1920 - My Dear Friend: Will drop you a card to thank for letter which I recieved. The Masquerade dance at Denmark was Monday the 16 of Feb but it was impossible for me to let you know before as I did not recieve your letter before the 18th. Will close for this time with the Best Regard to you from your friend, Ellen"

Masquerade balls were popular community highlights in rural Wisconsin during this era, often used to celebrate pre-Lenten festivities or town anniversaries.

Scene: The front features a serene, stylized nature scene titled "A Bend in the Road." 

The card features a visible registration shift in the blue sky tint. In 1920, colors were added in separate mechanical passes; on this card, the blue plate was slightly misaligned, causing the sky tint to land off-center. This is a common and desirable "fingerprint" of the antique halftone printing process.
