Hi Jehona, the chain on your Rhodonite necklace is a silver-plated brass, so with wear and environmental conditions, this will fade and show the brass underneath. Unfortunately, there is not much to do about it other than enjoy the natural process. We do have sterling silver chains available for purchase as well: https://satincrystals.com/collections/chains

The Rhodonite stone itself is okay in water, but the metal will further degrade in water.

I recommend you search animal pendants on etsy.com and contact one of those jewelers. ETSY is known for customized pieces and you may have good luck there.
