Antique Postcard 1909 Saint John KS Horse Mule Incubator Social History Rural
Social History: Sent from Saint John, Kansas, to Mrs. Loma Holderness in Macksville, it captures the daily challenges and logistics of farm families:
"Mar. 31, 1909. Dear Sister; I cannot bring the incubator down for Papa is using all of the horses except the little mules and I am afraid I can't drive them very well. Can't Marrion come over and back in one day with Fred and Pearl. [Top upside-down:] This is all I can think of for this time as ever your sister Elva. P.S. Papa bought some cabs and it will take call and him today and tomorrow to hall them."
