Own a fascinating set of artifacts from one of Europe's most challenging economic chapters. Dated 1920, these six "Zwanzig Heller" (Twenty Heller) notes were issued as emergency money (Notgeld) by the municipality of Amstetten during Austria's severe post-World War I currency crisis.

Measures: approximately 73 x 44 mm

Front: Features the official crowned coat of arms of Amstetten flanked by bold "20" denominations. The crisp German text outlines the legal framework of the issue, stating that the town issued a total of 60,000 Kronen in vouchers to be redeemed for legal cash at the town treasury. It is explicitly dated January 1, 1920 ("am 1. Jänner 1920").

Back: Features the ornamental, calligraphic side emphasizing the Zwanzig Heller denomination, alongside the expiration deadline ("Gültig bis 31. Dezember 1920") and the printed signatures of Amstetten's town officials.

Condition: Uncirculated with minor handling flaws. There is one black marker spot on the backside of one note, as seen in photo 2 left bottom piece.
