Social History: Mailed from Denmark, Wisconsin—a town founded by and named for Danish settlers—to Miss Ellen Jenson. This card perfectly documents the preservation of native language within Wisconsin's ethnic enclaves:

  • Danish: "Kære Søster, Jeg kom hjem rigtig godt i Søndags var i Seng Klokken 10 1/2. Hilsen Fra George."

  • English Translation: "Dear Sister, I got home very well on Sunday, was in bed at 10:30. Greetings from George."

Scene: This vibrant "Every Good Wish" postcard features a colorful bouquet of daisies and wildflowers in a tall, slender glass vase. During the "Golden Age of Postcards", floral greeting cards were popular for sending quick thoughts of kindness. They represented a move toward more affordable, everyday social communication before the widespread use of telephones.

Era: Early 1900s (Divided Back)
Size: Standard 3.5 x 5.5"
Type: Chromolithograph
Condition: Fair/Vintage. Noticeable vertical creasing and surface wear. The stamp has been removed, but the "Denmark, WIS." postmark is clear.
