Social History: This card is a "Thank You" note sent from Chicago, Illinois, addressed to the Sawyer family on Orange Road on September 3, 1914:

"Dear Aunt Martha, We arrived home Sat. P.M. We surely enjoyed our visit with you. Hope you will come to see us. Sorry did not see Mary, suppose she could not be there."

Scene: The front features a Mission-style geometric border and a short poem celebrating hospitality.

Postal History: The card bears two crisp strikes—a circular hand-stamp at 9:30 AM and a machine cancel at 11:00 AM—documenting its rapid journey through the Chicago sorting hubs.

Era: Divided Back

Size: Standard 3.5 x 5.5"

Type:  Lithograph with Arts and Crafts / Mission-style geometric borders in green and orange.

Publisher: Features the initials "R. M. L." on the front; reverse has a light blue "POST CARD" header with floral flourishes

Condition: Shows natural age-toning, softened corners, and light edge wear. There is a small brown spot on the left side of the front and light surface staining on the back
