Social History: This is a rare WWI Baltic-Russian crossover artifact. While the card is official Imperial Russian stationery mailed from Petrograd (Saint Petersburg) in 1916, the personal message is handwritten in Latvian.

Scene: The front features a vibrant violet and white floral bouquet in a metallic-finish gold vase, with elegant "blind embossing" around the border.

Postal History: This is a premier example of WWI-era Russian postal history, featuring four distinct cancellation stamps. It was mailed in 1916 from Petrograd (Saint Petersburg). The multiple strikes represent the journey through postal checkpoints and censors with final delivery in Tula.

Era: Divided Back

Size: Standard 3.5 x 5.5"

Type: Embossed lithograph on specialized textured cardstock

Publisher: Official Imperial-era stationery featuring headers in Russian, French, and German

Condition: Features minor postal wear, such as corner softening and age-toning. The reverse shows pen mark around the stamp and brown aging. Four distinct strikes, including the dated censor stamp, create a "dense" and highly collectible reverse side.
