This curated 3-piece Pengő collection chronicles the peak of postwar Hungary’s legendary financial collapse—the most rapid and extreme hyperinflation event ever recorded. Issued between March and June of 1946, this banknote set provides a spectacular, tangible timeline tracking how the Central Bank frantically abandoned traditional serial number stamping just to speed up the printing presses and push currency out to a collapsing market. It stands as an incredible visual testament to a monetary system in complete freefall.
