Vintage Postcard 1937 Fish Dinners 3 Deers Rocky Mountains Lake City CO Railway
Social History: Sent from remote Lake City, Colorado, to Dighton, Kansas, the postcard is a perfect snapshot of a bountiful 1930s mountain vacation:
"Dear Helen; Am having glorious cool time. The beauty of all this beggars all description. The men caught 36 fish yesterday. Big fish dinner every night. Love Mrs J PL."
Scene: This is a corporate promotional piece for the Northern Pacific Railway. Railways used these scenic wildlife cards to market the "unspoiled" beauty of the American West to travelers.
