Antique Postcard 1923 Folding Souvenir Camden Maine Accordion Social History

"Camden Maine Sep–19th 1923 Hello EtheI am sending you this souvenir so you may see what Camden looks like. Ethel I am sending you a package which also contains a souvenir from the state of maine something I prepared all myself. We are leaving for D.C. about the 29 or 30 of this month. Anna joins me in sending love to all. I received your letter some time ago which I intend to answer soon. Yours Sincerely Anna Leighton"

Postal: It traveled through the standard domestic mail stream from coastal Maine to Maryland. Because it contained an extensive folded handwritten letter nestled inside the accordion view panels, it required the standard 2-cent letter rate stamp rather than the typical 1-cent single postcard rate of the era.
