Social History: The message is a poignant piece documenting a family crisis in the early 20th century:

"Dear Brother, Jill(?) was operated on Monday morning. stood it fine and the Dr. says is getting along just fine. B.F. and I are both here with her and we are both about worn out. I will try and write you a letter as soon as I can. I don't feel like writing or anything else. Hope you are well. Will write as often as I can. This is the hospital we are at if you write soon.

Scene: Depicts the striking architecture of the Physicians and Surgeons Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. The card captures the "Sanatorium" style of the era, where hospital grounds often resembled park-like estates to aid in patient recovery.

Postal History: This card was postmarked in Little Rock, Ark., on March 24, 1909, at 7:30 PM. It was mailed to Mr. E.H. Skaggs in Lanes Prairie, Missouri, which is now an unincorporated area.
