This authentic real photo postcard stands as a beautiful document of that New Deal-era conservation work and the early days of Midwestern outdoor vacationing. The high-vantage scenic outlook is labeled Van Buren, Mo. From The Drive C-305 State Park. The view looks past rugged stone walls and framing forest trees down into the town of Van Buren nestled along the Current River valley in the Missouri Ozarks.
The "State Park" referenced in the negative text is Big Spring State Park, which was established in 1924 as one of Missouri's very first state parks.
