Social History: The card carries a personal message from "James M. Davis" of Hendersonville to a recipient in New York City. The bold, blue ink handwriting is a classic example of mid-century correspondence. Early usage of the NATO commemorative stamp.

Scene: This card features an optimistic "Architect's Sketch" of Fontana Dam, the tallest concrete dam in the Eastern United States. Built with massive urgency by the TVA, it provided critical hydroelectric power for World War II aluminum production and the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge.
