Social History: Mailed in 1916 from Alyth, Scotland, to Toronto, Canada, this piece is a fascinating relic of WWI-era international correspondence:

“16 High St Alyth. Dear Agnes, spending a few days with Aunt Maggie, hoping you and Ralph, Florence are keeping well. Violet and Annie are going to stay for a few weeks they are going to wait till the berry picking Love from Aunt Maggie and family write soon for I am weary to hear from you. Loving Mother. Florence xxxxxxx"

The mention of "berry picking" refers to a traditional seasonal activity in the Alyth area, known as a major center for soft fruit production.

Scene: This collectible art postcard features a miniature oil-painting style illustration of Blair Castle, the historic seat of the Murray clan, set against the vibrant Murray Tartan background.

The back includes a printed historical summary of the clan's lineage from Morayshire, their support of the Stuart cause in 1688, and their connection to the Duke of Atholl.

Postal History: A highly interesting Toronto, Ont. circular date stamp (CDS) dated July 18, 1918, paired with a Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) slogan cancel for Aug 25–Sept 11, 1916.
