Social History: The card was postmarked in Eugene, Oregon, on August 29, 1950, to Mr. Harold Biggs in Sacramento, California, capturing the post-war American road trip:

"Expect to see these tomorrow on the Columbia River Highway. Saw the Oregon Caves this morning. Lots of driving & not much stopping but we're enjoying it. Love, MOther"

Scene: Features the breathtaking Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. The image is particularly special because it captures a lively tourist scene, with the iconic Benson Bridge filled with visitors.

The card includes a petroliana slogan: "TOUR THE WEST THIS YEAR WITH 76 GASOLINE" on the back

Postal History: The postmark includes a "HIRE THE HANDICAPPED—IT'S GOOD BUSINESS" slogan, a common government-issued public service message of that year.
