Following the defeat of Nazi forces, Austria was separated from Germany and divided into four Allied occupation zones (American, British, French, and Soviet). To stabilize the region's shattered financial infrastructure and replace the German Reichsmark, the Allied Military Command introduced these emergency Schillings in late 1945.

Serial: For the lowest denominations in the 1944 Austrian Allied Military series (the 1, 2, and 5 Schilling notes), the Allied Command opted to omit serial numbers entirely to speed up wartime mass printing.

Size: 115 mm x 59 mm

Security: Complex, concentric geometric lathe line webs on the reverse to deter counterfeit photocopying

Condition: Good Circulated with foxing, folds, edge nicks
