Social History: Mailed on December 23, 1913, it captures the final peaceful holiday season before the outbreak of World War I. The destination, Osawatomie, Kansas, is a city with deep historical roots, famously known as the home of abolitionist John Brown. The recipient, Maud Bussell, belonged to a family with long-standing ties to the Osawatomie area

Scene: Shepherd and flock in snow scene framed in an embossed gold star. The star shape is physically raised (embossed), visible even on the reverse side, which is a hallmark of high-quality early 20th-century German or American printing.

Era: Early 1900s (Divided Back)
Size: Standard 3.5 x 5.5"
Print Type: Heavily embossed lithograph with gold gilded accents (series 915)
Condition: Postally used. Good vintage condition with natural toning, minor edge wear, and a few light spots on the reverse consistent with its 110+ year age.

This is an authentic vintage item. Use the zoom tool to inspect the photos for a detailed view of the condition.
